June 7th Day 8 Mid 60’s & Sunny

We left Sunset Watch Campground after dumping around 10:30am. Quick stop at the Bakery and on our way by 11am. The route towards Cape Breton was worst then the entry to this this area.

Much road construction and delays. Nice country side, but the roads.. Well.. sucked..

Finally made it back to the TCH and stopped in Antignosh to provision. Again Walmart is small, but a Atlantic Superstore right next door! Yes, a few campers already setup for the night.

Onward we pushed to reach Cape Breton. The TCH is an easy drive and welcomed after that secondary getting out of Tatamagouche.

Goal was Battery Point Provincial Campground. With the provisioning stops (yes a couple) finally reached there in 4.5hrs, only to find it close till tomorrow. OMG! Really?? Thankfully we met Kyle. Kyle is a Provincial Conservation Officer that liked us (personally I think Colette’s smile) and gave us permission to stay overnight at this wonderful Park at Point Michaud. This is a Refuge that is leave only ‘tracks’ nothing removed, nothing left behind. Respect it please! A place that should be seen!

Would we seen this spot without him, Doubt it very much. It’s a Jem!

Very good Day with all that happened.

Thank you Kyle!
