I have aluminum angle and use that for support. I didn't like the valance as support so added a pice on both ends then spanned across with more. Adds great support!

For the side pieces I use construction adhesive and a few screws. There are very few good places to screw into so this helps secure and support.

I use wire shelving because it light and self supportive. Found that it works well on Laundry Day for drying clothes and I can clip my reading light on it!
